It’s a trip back to the 90s memory lane with Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin rekindling their small-screen romance. Both stars are currently filming their first TV drama in ABS-CBN after two decades.
Flordeliza is under the direction of Wenn Deramas, who was also the pair’s director in their last film together with ABS-CBN in 2002.
Magdangal transferred to GMA-7 that year. Agustin followed suit in 2006.
Magdangal did not give much details on her role in Flordeliza but said she has never done a similar character in her career. She also said that she reread the script several times in readying herself for the role. She claims to be very excited because the role demands to show a different facet of her talent as an actress.
Although “Flordeliza” is a drama series, Deramas assured long-time fans of Magdangal and Agustin that they will see the trademark romcom banter between the two, which they were known for in the late ’90s.
Deramas added that “Flordeliza,” which revolves around two children, is a timely project for both Magdangal and Agustin, who are now parents. Agustin is a proud father to twins, while Magdangal welcomed her first child with Rivermaya drummer Mark Escueta in February.
Asked how her husband reacted to her reunion with Agustin, Magdangal said that her husband Mark is as excited as she is when she told the story.
