Lyca Gairanod from Team Sarah bagged the title and won it against three other rivals during the two-day final sing-offs held last July 26 and 27 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.

The little girl impressed the crowd with her rendition of Aegis’ “Basang-basa sa Ulan” which garnered her the highest votes during the finals.

Her winnings will be of much help to her and her family for scavenging was their only source of living prior to the said competition.

Gairanod took home P1 million, a one-year recording contract from MCA Universal, house and lot, a home appliance showcase, a musical instrument showcase, and a trust fund worth P1 million.

The sing-offs went over three stages: the power ballads, upbeat songs and finally a song performed with special guests.

Darren Espanto from Team Sarah came in at second place. He performed the song “You are my Song” together with the Philippines’ “Concert King” Mr. Martin Nievera. Team Bamboo’s Juan Karlo Labajo took on the third place and he sang “Eto na Naman” with “Mr. Pure Energy”, Gary Valenciano. The fourth placer was Team Leah’s Darlene Vibares. She sang “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me” with “Asia’s Nightingale”, Ms. Lani Misalucha.
